- Building up people by building homes they can afford.
Our mission is to prevent and reduce homelessness and to increase the quality of life for people with behavioral health issues in New Mexico by creating affordable, supportive housing in partnership with local communities and member agencies.
- Housing that provides the safety and affordability to allow families to establish stability and to become active participants in our community.
We are fulfilling this mission by the development of 349 affordable housing units located in seven projects in Albuquerque, Gallup and Las Vegas and by managing over 300 rental vouchers that provide the financial assistance needed to maintain housing and prevent a return to homelessness.
- Affordable and supportive homes are the foundation to healthy families, vibrant neighborhoods and strong communities.
The Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico develops, owns and manages a variety of affordable supportive housing options for homeless and near homeless individuals who suffer from severe mental illness, while our community partners refer and place residents and offer a comprehensive range of supportive services that, in combination, optimizes their health, recovery, independence and housing stability.
- Working together, we assist the marginally-housed to become well-housed and the homeless to become formerly homeless.
Today, the Coalition provides nearly 700 units of housing through new construction, property acquisition, rehabilitation, management, and the administration of tenant based rental assistance vouchers.
