The Supportive Housing Coalition of New Mexico depends on the support of our partners and donors to continue our mission of preventing and reducing homelessness in New Mexico. We have several volunteer opportunities for those who prefer a more “hands-on” approach to contributing to this effort. Working with others is always more fun!

*All volunteers will be required to complete a volunteer application and go through a volunteer orientation. A background check may be required.

Housing First! Service Learning Project
Using SHC-NM provided course materials, volunteers engage students in discussions about homelessness and the Housing First approach. You will assist teachers and service club advisors in developing a service project to benefit SHC-NM residents. Download the Housing First Service-Learning Fact Sheet

SHC-NM Board of Directors
Serve as a leader and advocate for SHC-NM and plan for SHC-NM’s long and short term future. Potential board members must apply and be approved by current Board of Directors. Download the Board of Director’s Fact Sheet

Fundraising Committee
Work with the Fundraising Committee Chair and be a part of the creative team that sets goals and plans for future campaigns. Check out our 2016 Spring Challenge!

Fundraising Events
Each event, such as our Strike Out Homelessness event, has different needs where we could use some extra help! Assist with the planning and implementation of our annual fundraising event: seek donations, make phone calls, create publicity materials, assist with mailings.

Community Building
For those of you who love to plan a party! Plan, solicit donations for, and run community based events for our tenants.

Property Improvement
If you like to paint, tile, clean, and build things, you may want to volunteer for any number of property improvement projects we are undertaking.
