Downtown @700-2nd — This is a 72 unit, Single Residence Occupancy (SRO) affordable housing project in Albuquerque’s downtown core. Downtown @ 700-2nd integrates a diverse population of formerly homeless persons, persons with disabilities, retirees, and low-wage workers as well as market rate tenants in a mixed income, mixed use and sustainable “green” environment. The project was supported by an advisory group that includes downtown employers, political leaders, social justice advocates, neighborhood representatives, union officials, service providers, architects, planners, and others. This project opened in March, 2010 and is currently accepting applications for lease-up. Vista Gallinas — This is a15-unit HUD Section 811 project providing permanent supportive housing for disabled persons with severe mental illness who are at or below 30% area median income. The project is located in Las Vegas, NM and opened in February 2010. Silver Gardens — This is a 66-unit mix-income affordable housing project in downtown Albuquerque. SHC-NM is partnering with Romero Rose on this project. This project opened in April 2010. Sunport Plaza Apartments — 81 units of affordable housing for persons with incomes at or below 50% area median income. Studios and one-bedrooms. Laundry facility onsite and off street parking. Section 8 rental assistance accepted. There are currently 60 units of housing available at this site. An additional 21 units are expected to be rehabiliated by 2011 East Central — 11 one-bedroom units. Permanent housing for persons with mental health disabilities. Rents are at 30% of the tenant's income and include utilities. Laundry facility on site. Section 8 rental assistance accepted. Chelwood Apartments — Four two-bedroom units acquired in 2001 utilized as “crisis housing” where individuals with mental disabilities can stay for free for up to 60 days upon discharge from an institutional setting. Tenants have a private bedroom but share commons areas, including bathroom and kitchen. Redlands Apartments — 17 one-bedroom units and a two-bedroom unit. Property includes a manager’s office, laundry facility, community room, and landscaped common areas. Permanent housing for persons who have a behavior health disability and desire to live an independent setting. Rents are at 30% of the tenant’s income and include utilities. Rental subsidies provided by HUD Section 811 funding. Tierra Del Sol — 12 one-bedroom units of affordable housing. Each unit has a bedroom, a living area, a full-size kitchen and a bathroom. There is a playground and community room on-site.
