Our Management Team

David Klimut, SHC-NM Executive Director, has significant housing development experience.  Mr. Klimut headed up the housing development team for the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless for ten years.  During that time he created more than 1,000 units of affordable housing in ten separate developments serving formerly homeless and low-income households. Nine of those ten developments utilized low income housing tax credit as part of their capital structures, in conjunction with HUD and other financing sources.  Mr. Klimut received his law degree and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Illinois.

John Ames, Community Housing Director/Interim Director , initiated and manages the city-funded Housing First project.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Masters in Divinity.  Mr. Ames has fifteen years experience in the management of non-profit organizations that serve persons with HIV/AIDS and substance abuse problems, including projects with residential and scattered site housing opportunities for these high-risk populations.  As a member of SHC-NM’s management team he is an HQS inspector and recently received certification as a Fair Housing Coordinator.

Evelyn Dulaney, CPA, Director of Finance , has fifteen years experience in accounting, financial management and human resources. Ms. Dulaney has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has extensive knowledge of nonprofit accounting, grants and contracts management, and financial audits including city, state, and federal grant compliance audits. She has also provided consulting services to small businesses and nonprofit organizations.

Dory Wegrzyn, AICP, Housing Development Director,  has over twenty years experience in planning, community development and housing development. Her experience base includes private sector, non-profit and public sector projects.  Her comprehensive knowledge of the development field gives our organization the capacity to serve our clients with quality affordable housing and environments that create walkability, proximity to transit options and access to services. Ms. Wegrzyn has a Masters in Community and Regional Planning from the University of New Mexico.
